After an impressive debut, MADE Bike Show announces dates for its second event

MADE Bike Show.

After its impressive debut in August, the global handmade bike builder show, MADE, today announced the dates and registration for its second event in 2024. The show will return to Portland, Oregon's Zidell Yards on August 23-25. 

The inaugural event was touted as the world’s largest custom bike show, showcasing the art of 200 builders and brands and attracting over 5,000 consumers over the course of the three-day event. 

A vision of industry veteran Billy Sinkford, MADE proved that the interest in handcrafted bicycles is alive and well despite the cancellations of the North American Handmade Bicycle Show (NAHBS) three years in a row due to alleged lack of exhibitor interest. 

The MADE show sold out and outgrew its initial event space within months and quickly became the most-talked-about show in years.  Bike builders and brands from around the world converged on Portland, with brands coming from faraway places like Namibia, Colombia and Japan as well as a strong representation of Portland's own celebrated bike builders. The iconic 100,000 sq/ft Zidell Yards event space was abuzz with industry folks and consumers a like. Daily rides and afterparties, business talks and networking opportunities contributed to the huge amount of bike geekery. "It's too cool not to be here," Enve's Neil Shirley told Cycling Weekly at the time, which sums up the debut pretty nicely.

In 2024, MADE will sport a larger floor plan and venue footprint to accommodate even more exhibitors and attendees, as well as offering improved amenities. 

“Our mission is to support the handmade culture by creating an event where builders and brands come together to share their passion for the bike. Year one was a success thanks to everyone who believed in MADE, and demonstrated the strength and passion that drives this community,” said Sinkford.

MADE will again host exclusive industry and media hours before opening up to the public at noon on Friday, August 23 through Sunday, August 25. Evening events are planned to spotlight local cycling brands and culture. 

A full show schedule and dates for ticket sales will be provided in Spring 2024. Registration for waitlisted brands and new exhibitors will begin at 8 a.m. PST on December 4. In the meantime, visit www.made.bike  for more information.
