After more than a century abroad, Benin artefacts finally go on display at home

EYE ON AFRICA © FRANCE 24

In this edition, we start out in Benin, where 26 artefacts - looted by France during its colonial rule - will finally be exhibited where they belong; at home in Cotonou. The treasures were stolen 129 years ago and were recently returned by Paris's Quai Branly Museum. We talk to our guests about the significance of this restitution.

We also head to Brussels, as the EU–African Union summit comes to an end. The main outcome: six African countries will get mRNA vaccine technology as part of a World Health Organisation project.
