Richmond superstar Dustin Martin has trained at the AFL club for a second time in three days in a boost to the Tigers' hopes of regaining their gun midfielder.
On Monday morning, the day after Richmond lost to Melbourne, Martin was at Punt Road Oval completing a running session with teammate Josh Caddy.
The three-time Norm Smith Medallist and triple-premiership player made his surprise return to Richmond on Saturday morning.
It was just under a month after he stepped away from football for an indefinite period after round one to deal with personal issues and spent time in Sydney.
Martin is grieving the loss of his father Shane, who died last December.
He has also returned from a lacerated kidney, suffered in round 18 last season, that ended his 2021 campaign prematurely.
The Tigers have not put any time frame on Martin's AFL return and coach Damien Hardwick was tight-lipped on Sunday night on when his superstar might play again.
"It was good, nice to see him," Hardwick said.
"Once we know, you'll know."
An immediate return for round seven appears extremely unlikely, given Richmond, who sit 2-4, travel to Perth to play West Coast on Friday.
They return to Melbourne in round eight to play Collingwood at the MCG on Saturday May 7.
