AFC West standings: Broncos in 3rd place after Week 1

Following a 26-20 road loss to the Seattle Seahawks in Week 1, the Denver Broncos (0-1) find themselves in third place in the AFC West.

Technically, the Los Angeles Chargers (1-0) are first in the AFC West after a 22-10 win over the Las Vegas Raiders (0-1). The Raiders are the only team ranked lower in the division than the Broncos after one week of action.

The Kansas City Chiefs (1-0) are ranked second after defeating the Baltimore Ravens 27-20 in the NFL’s season opener on Thursday. After a small one-week sample size, it’s looking unlikely that anyone will catch KC in the division even though the Chiefs are currently ranked No. 2.

AFC West standings after Week 1

Team Record Div. Con. Net Points
1. Los Angeles Chargers 1-0 1-0 1-0 12
2. Kansas City Chiefs 1-0 0-0 1-0 7
3. Denver Broncos 0-1 0-0 0-0 -6
4. Las Vegas Raiders 0-1 0-1 0-1 -12

The Broncos have an in-conference game coming up against the Pittsburgh Steelers (1-0) in Week 2. Three weeks later, Denver will play its first division game of the year when the Las Vegas Raiders come to town in Week 5.
