AFC Bournemouth has launched a football boot recycling scheme in partnership with its principal partner and front-of-shirt sponsor property finance lender MSP and insurance firm Vitality.
The Bring Your Boots campaign is encouraging members of the public to donate pre-loved boots or trainers to families in the town who would struggle to pay for new ones.
It comes after a report by Utilita found nearly one in five families financially impacted by the pandemic said they would struggle to send their children to a grassroots club because of the cost of replacing outgrown boots and other items of kit.
