Irish airline Aer Lingus has has announced it plans to resume routes to some of the biggest US cities for the first time since 2020 proving a transatlantic gateway for several UK regional airports. The move will further boost US connectivity for UK customers travelling through the Irish flag carrier's hub at Dublin.
Connections are available from Birmingham, Manchester, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Newcastle, as well as Heathrow and Gatwick. Popular services returning this summer include Philadelphia, which started earlier this week, Los Angeles (starting May 12) and Seattle (July 7).
Fares start from £209 each way as part of a return trip including taxes and charges. There will also be six flights a week to Philadelphia, rising to daily services from May. Chicago will operate a second daily flight five times weekly, and for the first time ever a second daily flight to Washington DC will operate from June 9.
In October Aer Lingus will resume its highly popular flights to the capital of the Sunshine State, Miami, from Dublin. The start of Aer Lingus Regional routes and the resumption of the transatlantic routes from Dublin will increase choice for UK regional customers who can seamlessly connect onto Aer Lingus’ North American network via its Dublin Hub.
Further UK connections to North America from Bristol and Leeds Bradford, will follow from April 15 and Exeter and Newquay from April 29 via Dublin. UK travellers can experience the benefit of US Immigration pre-clearance before they depart allowing them to arrive into the US as domestic customers, avoiding any lengthy immigration queues.

“With the convenience of US Customs and Immigration pre-clearance at Dublin and Shannon, time spent connecting through both airports provides customers with a speedier journey overall as you arrive in the US as a domestic customer.’’
UK travellers can fly on 12 transatlantic routes via Dublin, including New York JFK, Newark, Miami, Chicago, Boston, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Orlando, Washington DC, Seattle, Toronto, and Philadelphia, and to New York, JFK and Boston via Shannon. Customers flying on all flights to North America with Aer Lingus will enjoy complimentary meals and drinks, endless hours of in-flight entertainment including the latest movie releases, TV boxsets, games and music.
