An Aer Lingus passenger has taken to the internet to slam the Irish airline for the size of the wrap he was handed, claiming it also “tasted and looked like cardboard.”
The platinum customer said they were “disappointed” as they took to Twitter to describe the allegedly awful travel experience on their journey from Shannon to New York.
The flight that Pat Phelan was on took off at 12:30 pm on Monday afternoon and the disgruntled flyer claimed not so much as a cup of tea or coffee was available due to low stock of lids and he said that only paper cups and water was available.
He then said the post-landing snack he was handed was “tiny” as he posted a picture comparing it to the size of his own hand.
Pat told Dublin Live: "The snack before landing was a quarter of a wrap. It fitted in the palm of my hand and tasted and looked like cardboard.
"You could only have water with it. The flight was seven hours due to strong headwinds and the food was appalling.
“There were no lids available so all that was served was water with the snack, not even bottles just paper cups. The flight was very poor, a full flight. I flew business a few weeks ago and it was the same experience
"It appears to be a race to the bottom and wasn't a cheap flight. I feel 7 hours is a long flight to get this kind of food, to be honest."
An Aer Lingus spokesman then responded by saying: "We are sorry to learn of the customer's inflight experience which was not the level of service we seek to provide.
“The feedback has been passed on our Customer Experience team for review."
