U-Haul death sentencing
CALGARY _ Ronald Candaele is scheduled to have sentencing submissions heard on his July 7 conviction on a charge of second-degree murder. Candaele was found guilty of the Feb. 10, 2020, killing of Melissa Rae Blommaert. At the time he was charged, police called it a domestic homicide and alleged the 33-year-old victim was intentionally struck by a U-Haul vehicle. 10:00 am - 11:00 am (MST). Plea expected in neglect case
CALGARY _ Malinda Phillips and Jonathon Grunewald are scheduled to enter guilty pleas in connection to charges against both of criminal negligence causing bodily harm and failing to provide the necessaries of life.
