Advisers Consider Plan To Suspend Biden's Reelection Bid

Picture of Joe Biden

Advisers to President Joe Biden are reportedly considering a plan to persuade him to suspend his reelection bid, as per a recent report by the New York Times. Despite mounting pressure from within the Democratic party for him to step aside, President Biden has remained steadfast in his decision to continue his campaign.

Sources familiar with the matter revealed that in order to convince Biden to withdraw from the race, his advisers must demonstrate that he would not be able to secure victory against former President Donald Trump. They also need to present Vice President Kamala Harris as a more viable candidate with a better chance of defeating Trump. Additionally, they must assure Biden that the process of selecting a new nominee would be well-organized.

The White House has refuted the claims made in the report, asserting that President Biden enjoys strong support from his team. However, the Biden campaign's analytics team has initiated a survey to gauge Harris' potential strength as a presidential candidate against Trump.

A recent poll conducted post-debate indicated that Vice President Harris would outperform Biden in a hypothetical matchup against Trump. Despite this, reports suggest that Harris and her team have been dismissive of numerous attempts to communicate with them, emphasizing her commitment to stand by Biden's side.
