Lung cancer is one of the most common cancers in the whole world despite herculean measures being taken to prevent and detect early lung cancer. The treatment of lung cancer has been conventional until around the last decade and even now in certain patients, but newer modalities like targeted therapies and immunotherapy are a definite ray of hope in increasing the overall survival and prevention of recurrence.
There is no umbrella treatment for lung cancer. Every patient is different and tailored or precision medicine is practiced in the management of these cancers.
