Adorable puppy who 'loves to cuddle' is still waiting to find his forever home

An adorable puppy with a 'calm and curious nature' is searching for a new home after being taken into kennels. Caucasian shepherd Diggle, who is between three and six-months-old, is up for adoption with the RSPCA's Coventry and District Branch.

Little Diggle has been described as a "sweet, snuggly, young puppy" who loves to cuddle up with his favourite humans. An RSPCA statement reads: "All potential adopters must have breed experience to proceed forward. He loves to play and be active almost as much as he loves to cuddle.

He cannot live with small dogs or cats (RSPCA)

"Diggle would thrive in a home with owners who can provide him with a loving stable environment. This pup loves other dogs and meeting new people".

The pooch is a quick learner and would benefit from an owner with an interest in training him tricks, such as paw and roll over.

The statement adds: "Diggle develops bonds with people very quickly and really is the perfect embodiment of 'man’s best friend'."

The puppy can live with another dog of medium to large size - but cannot live with small dogs or cats and children living in the home would need to be 10-years-old and over.

"Being a typical puppy Diggle will need help in basic obedience, housetraining and to carry on his socialisation," the statement reads.

"Diggle is looking for his new family to be able to build his confidence and teach him all essentials he needs to thrive and grow.

"He is looking for a home with new owners that have experience of his breed."

The RSPCA is urging people to adopt an animal in need rather than turning to breeders when wanting to welcome a pet into their family.

"While it may be easy to find animals on the internet or even spend hundreds on an expensive breeder, you could risk heartache or huge vet's bills if you don't do your homework," a statement reads.

"By adopting and not shopping you'll also feel good for doing good - by giving an animal a second chance at life in a loving home.

"Plus, adopting from us means that you can relax knowing that all our animals are healthy, neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.

"As with all the animals we rehome, we'll pass on the details of their behaviour and veterinary treatment. You'll likely know more about your rescue animal's history than if you were to buy an animal online!

"We've taken the time to get to know each animal as an individual, to understand their likes and dislikes and to prepare them for life in a loving family, which means there are less likely to be nasty surprises when you get home.

"When you adopt a cat or a dog from one of our centres, you'll also get four weeks free pet insurance, which is vital to protect your pet's future as well as your bank balance! There's so much to gain from rescuing an animal in need."
