Scots care home residents have been cheered up with a visit from adorable ducks and bunnies.
Pensioners were thrilled to be visited by their cuddly pals at Dalmellington Care Centre, in Ayr, yesterday.
It was smiles all round for the group who got to hold and pet a variety of cuddly pals for the day.
Pictures shared by the care home on Facebook show residents posing with guinea pigs, turtles, bunnies, and ducks, which were passed around and given plenty of tender love and care.
Staff at the facility also got to enjoy the furry visitors during the special visit.
Care home Activities Coordinator Rona .said: "I introduced the animals into the Care home when I started working here.
"I worked in a Care home in East Kilbride previously and they already had the animals in place so I brought the idea here with me.
"The animals belong to a lady named Gina who owns Bunny Luv.
"Gina has brought the animals many times over the last eight years and the residents thoroughly enjoy their visits.
"After the animals lift their moods, they have something to talk about to each other and to their families.
"The benefit the animals bring to the residents is huge.
"Gina brings dogs, Guinea pigs, mice, rabbits, chickens, ducks and a tortoise.
"All the animals and birds can be handled, brushed, stroked and fed. These animals are a great sensory, nurturing and tactile experience.
"The animals promote lots of reminiscing about past pets or work they did and one of the gentlemen was delighted to be able to have a Guinea pig sit on his lap a while as he used to have lots of them."
