Well, Hello! Adele has joined the chorus of celebrities weighing in on the messy drama surrounding reality TV personality Tom Sandoval.
The “Vanderpump Rules” star became the subject of public scorn when it was revealed back in March he had been having a months-long affair with co-star Raquel Leviss behind the back of fellow star Ariana Madix, with whom he had been in a relationship for nearly 10 years.
During a recent Las Vegas residency performance, Adele asked audience members to update her on the scandal that has since become the cultural phenomenon dubbed “Scandoval.” After getting the lowdown on how lowdown Sandoval is, the Grammy winner asked pointedly what he actually does for a living.
“The other day my friend was like, ‘No, they really do restaurants or something.’ So is it related to the TV show, and what does the guy do that cheated?” Adele asked. “Does anyone know anything about that ‘Vanderpump’ stuff? What does the man do?”
When one fan replied that Sandoval is “trash,” Adele agreed that “he’s trash,” then asked for even more information on his work experience.
“He tries to sing, and he’s no Adele,” the fan explained of the Tom Sandoval & The Most Extras frontman. “He’s on a TV show pretending to be a server. He wants to be an entertainer now, but no.”
“Oh, OK, like most of L.A.,” Adele quipped. “Whenever I get served at a restaurant, someone tries to slide me a demo. Thanks for that. I needed that.”
And Adele isn’t the only A-lister who has had a visceral reaction to the scandal.
During an appearance on “Watch What Happens Live” this week, Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence — who’s much more well-versed in the Bravo Universe than Adele — described what transpired between Sandoval and Leviss as “sickening and just bizarre and weird.”
Host Andy Cohen egged on the “Hunger Games” star by pulling out a cardboard cut-out of the mustached lothario and asking her what she would say to him to his face.
“I curse the day you were born,” Lawrence said, referencing the famous line Charlotte said to Mr. Big in the “Sex and the City” movie.
“You have bad skin,” she then added. “You have weirdly feminine, in a bad way, skin and there’s no amount of spray tan that could ever change the texture of it.”
