Adele ignores Vegas residency drama as fans blown away with BRITS performance

Adele stunned fans at the BRIT Awards last night.

It was her first public appearance since axing her Las Vegas residency at the last minute, which left fans devastated.

The Hello singer only cancelled her Vegas shows last month but she failed to address the controversy at last night's awards.

Adele was accused of being a 'diva' and axing the events because she didn't like the set.

But the 33-year-old had the last laugh at the BRITS as she took the ceremony by storm.

As reported in The Mirror, the star wowed in a beautiful gold gown as she sat on the edge of a piano, flanked by a small band and her backup singers, for her performance of I Drink Wine.

Fans adored the performance and took to Twitter to share their feelings about it.

"Adele turned the #BRITs into her own concert as she should," one wrote, as a second added: "Stunning performance by Adele."

A third fan wrote: "Adele is the Queen of the #Brits," with a fourth sharing: "Adele carrying the brits #BRITs."

Earlier in the night, Adele took home the Song of the Year award for her comeback single, Easy On Me.

"First of all I didn’t know that many songs were nominated for song of the year. I can’t believe that a piano ballad won up against that many bangers," she said as she accepted the accolade.

"But thank you so much. It is always a pleasure to be here. I always love coming home and the Brits is such a big part of my career since way back when I was a little foetus."

The singer broke down in tears back in January as she admitted her Vegas shows weren't ready.

"Listen, I'm so sorry but my show ain't ready," she said, "We've tried absolutely everything we can to put it together in time and for it to be good enough for you but we've been absolutely destroyed by delivery delays and Covid.

"Half my team, half my crew are hit by Covid, they still are and it's been impossible to finish the show and I can't give you what I have right now and I'm gutted.

"I'm sorry it's so last minute, we've been awake for over 30 hours now trying to figure it out and we've run out of time and I'm so upset and I'm really embarrassed."
