Adele demands 'celebration' to finally announce rescheduled Las Vegas residency dates

Adele is said to be finally getting her act together and limbering up for her long awaited Las Vegas residency gigs – after previously cancelling them earlier this year.

The 34-year-old chart topping star was due to commence her residency in January – but cancelled hours before her first show was due to begin.

Despite causing considerable anger among fans, Adele has not yet revealed when she will reschedule the dates to – but had promised she would take to the stage before the year was our.

But now the singer – who enjoyed a number of shows in London’s Hyde Park at the beginning of the month – has hinted that the plans are finally coming together – with reports suggesting she will start performing in December.

The Sun on Sunday reports the star is planning a “celebration” to announce her long awaited time in the spotlight.

A source told the outlet: “Adele loved performing in London and it gave her the drive to push forward with her Vegas residency.

"An announcement is coming in the next few weeks. Management have asked for a celebration to promote her return.”

While the report added: “There is still some confusion over whether the gigs will take place at Caesars Palace Colosseum or across the road at the larger Planet Hollywood’s Zappos Theatre, which would allow her to increase ticket sales by almost 2,000 a night.”

Meanwhile the Daily Mail reported Adele is: "set to finally take to the stage for her Las Vegas residency in December this year, with an announcement coming within weeks."

They added: “she will perform an intimate set of her hits later this year.”

Adele sparked fury when she cancelled her residency dates at Caesar's Palace at the eleventh hour in January.

Some fans had spent thousands of pounds on flights, accommodation and tickets – only to discover that the show would not go on while they were en route to America and mid air.

Initially Covid was blamed for the concerts being axed – but reports later emerged that Adele refused to step into the spotlight after deciding she didn’t like her stage designs.

A report suggested the final designs – which would have been known for weeks if not months in advance – looked more like an 'old pond' and ended up allegedly 'refusing to take part'.

A source claimed in January: "Adele described the pool as a ‘baggy old pond’ and refused, point blank, to stand in the middle of it.

“The intention was to fill it with water on the set as she was lifted up on a crane-type mechanism, creating the illusion she was floating on water.”
