Adam Thomas has given an emotional first look inside his new family home after he and his wife 'didn't think it was possible'. The former Emmerdale star and wife Caroline shared a video of them finding out they had an offer accepted on a house that they had 'no intentions of actually buying'.
The black and white clip, set to Empire of the Sun track, Walking on a Dream, saw Caroline appearing to confirm the sale over the phone, with the mum-of-two struggling to hold back tears as she and Adam celebrated with their two children Teddy, seven, and four-year-old Elsie-Rose.
The kids could be seen grinning over the news before jumping up and down as Adam, 33, fist pumped the air in celebration. Caroline, however, was clearly overcome with emotion before embracing her children and husband.
"Does anyone else go on Rightmove flicking through houses you can’t afford … thinking one day!!" Adam penned to his followers.
"We’ll that’s what me and @carolinethomas23 do [crying laughing emojis] but one day we decided to go and view one, with no intentions of actually buying it haha but we fell in love!!!!"
He continued to explain: "1 hour later we put an offer in… a few days later they accepted the offer!! It was repossessed… so we had to find the money and a mortgage in 21 days!!!"
Adam shared: "We didn’t think it was possible!!! Well it was!! " He then teased: "Not gonna give too much away just yet…but here’s the moment we found out we were getting the keys and showing lil Ted his new room!!
"This year has been the craziest year of my life and am very aware of how lucky i am, and I know my lucks going to run out soon… but until it does am gonna enjoy every minute of it!!" He then tagged the family's home account, @ourthomashome run by Caroline, which featured another photo.
It showed Teddy and Elsie-Rose sat on the kitchen counter, smiling for the camera, with the family dog Bella firmly with her feet on the ground. "Welcome to our new home. Hard work starts now."
Responding to Adam's post, the couple's celebrity pals and fans couldn't have been more supportive. Former Emmerdale co-star Kelvin Fletcher said: "Dare to dream. Everything starts with a thought lad." Fomer Corrie star Brooke Vincent wrote: " Proud!!!!! Love you all so much."
Emmerdale's Priya Sharma actress Fiona Wade commented: "Aww Congratulations you guys!! This is soo lovely!!" Former Queen of the Jungle Jacqueline Jossa replied: " Aww this is so brill!!!" Danny's former co-star and best pal Danny Miller also added: " Proud of you bro.
The news comes after Adam admitted to a 'stressful' patch which could now hint to their plans to secure their new home. Sharing a photo of himself and Caroline, at the end of last month, he said: " It’s been a stressful few weeks, but this one has been holding it down usual!"
He added: "Love you @carolinethomas23 What will be … will BE." It also came after he revealed he had wrapped up filming on the Waterloo Road. The BBC school drama is set to return to screens this year and has been filmed back in Greater Manchester. Adam will be reprising the role of Donte Charles with his real-life niece Scarlett taking on the role of his on-screen daughter.
