This past weekend, nearly 100 celebrities gathered for the 2023 American Century Championship. And of all those stars, one from the Carolina Panthers shined pretty bright.
Wide receiver Adam Thielen tied for 14th place in the annual celeb tournament, which was held at Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course in Stateline, Nev. The 32-year-old pass catcher, who placed alongside Pro Football Hall of Fame running back Marshall Faulk and country singer Jake Owen, put up 43 points.
After a rough first outing, where he finished 15 points behind the leader, Thielen bounced back between Saturday and Sunday to end on a respectable note. His partners throughout the three-day tourney included former NFLers Andrew Whitworth, Ryan Fitzpatrick and Alex Smith, New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers, former Major League Baseball pitcher Jon Lester and actor Alfonso Ribeiro.
The winner of the event turned out to be Golden State Warriors guard and Panthers superfan Steph Curry, who won with an eagle on the 18th hole of the final round.
