Michigan State hockey has won their first game of the 2022-23 season, thus giving new head coach Adam Nightingale his first win in his tenure.
Following a tight 3-1 loss on Friday, the Spartans looked to bounce back on Saturday night, and they did just that. MSU defeated Bowling Green on the road 2-1, giving Nightingale his first win. The Spartans improved to 1-1 on the season with the win.
The Spartans found a game-winning powerplay goal by Daniel Russell with just under 4-minutes to go in the game. The other goal went to Tiernan Shoudy early in the second period.
