Acts announced for 2023 Music at the Multiverse near Sanquhar

Two days of great entertainment at one of Scotland’s most amazing outdoor venues are being lined up for later this year at the Music at the Multiverse.

Headline acts, announced this week for September 2 and 3, include feel-good festival favourites Scouting for Girls, multi-award winning Celtic trad-rockers Skerryvore, and Scottish rock legends Big Country at Crawick Multiverse near Sanquhar.

Sharon Glendinning, Crawick’s general manager, said: “Music at the Multiverse offers a fresh and different experience – as well as great live music there’s the chance to spend time in one of Scotland’s most spectacular settings.

“We’re really excited to be able to build on the success of last year’s event and proud to be bringing big-name acts to Crawick while also showcasing some of south-west Scotland’s home-grown talent – and all at a setting that we hope will appeal to local audiences as well as visitors from further afield.”

In support on the main stage, Music at the Multiverse will also showcase local talent from Dumfries and Galloway. Confirmed so far are The Dangleberries, Mary Barclay Band, Big Time Louie, and back by popular demand – Pedro and the Pirates and local Kelloholm DJ Malcolm X.

More announcements are to come from the Crawick team in the next few weeks, including the acts who will be playing the second stage in the Big Top as well as this year’s event sponsors

New for this year’s event will be a limited number of pitches for campervans/motorhomes for those looking to make the most of the weekend and Early Bird tickets have gone on sale this week.

Music at the Multiverse is supported by Dumfries and Galloway Council Major Events Fund 2023/24.

Crawick Multiverse is a spectacular land art installation created by the late Charles Jencks and inspired by his thinking about space, astronomy and cosmology.

There is giant conical mounds representing colliding galaxies, a huge avenue of standing stones and even more spectacular features inspired by the sun and other wonders of the cosmos.

The major land restoration project has transformed 55 acres of former open cast mining into an inspirational artwork, unique destination and visitor attraction.

Ticket prices are £50 for an adult weekend pass, £30 for young people (12-17), £12 for ages 11 and under. Day passes £30 adult, £18 young people and £6 children. Booking fees apply online. Motorhome parking £30, with weekend car parking £14 or £7 per day. See www.crawickmultiverse.co.uk for details.
