Actress Shannen Doherty, known for her roles in popular TV series such as 'Beverly Hills, 90210' and 'Charmed,' has passed away at the age of 53 after a long battle with cancer. Her publicist confirmed the news, stating that Doherty lost her fight with the disease surrounded by loved ones and her dog, Bowie.

Doherty first gained fame for her role as Heather Duke in the 1989 film 'Heathers' and later as Brenda Walsh in 'Beverly Hills, 90210' from 1990 to 1994. She also starred in the series 'Charmed' from 1998 to 2001 as Prue Halliwell.
