Do you suffer from acidity regularly and end up popping acid reflux pills? If yes, you need to be aware of the potential risks. A new study has found that those who take acid reflux medications regularly for four-and-a-half years or more may have a higher risk of dementia, compared to people who do not take these medications.
It is important to note that the study did not prove that acid reflux drugs called proton pump inhibitors cause dementia but showed an association. The findings of the study were published in Neurology, the medical journal of the American Academy of Neurology.
