Targeted police raids in south Canberra have unearthed 13 guns illegally owned by an alleged drug trafficker.
Following raids at multiple locations in Tuggeranong on July 17, ACT Policing said it seized phones and other evidence which led to the arrest a 40-year-old man in Banks on Wednesday, July 29.
The Banks man is the second person charged as part of ACT Policing's intelligence-led, Operation Campania to disrupt illicit drug distribution in the territory.
It is alleged he is the associate of a 42-year-old Conder man who was arrested on the day of the July 17 raids and charged with drug trafficking, firearms, and proceeds of crime offences.
The Conder man is allegedly involved in trafficking cocaine and illegally accumulating assets derived from proceeds of crime.
"Police will allege the 40-year-old man facilitated drug trafficking in the ACT with his 42-year-old associate [and] several firearms seized during search warrants earlier this month have been linked to the man," an ACT Policing spokeswoman said.
During the raids, police allege they found more than a dozen Pokemon trading cards that were reported stolen from a city business in February this year.
The 40-year-old man is set to face the ACT Magistrates Court where he is expected to be charged with trafficking in a controlled drug, unauthorised possession of more than 10 firearms, illegally possessing stolen property and a prohibited weapon.
The 42-year-old Conder man previously faced the ACT Magistrates Court on July 18 where he was charged with drug trafficking, dealing with proceeds of crime worth $50,000 or more, possessing a prohibited firearm, and possessing ammunition.
