The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has disrupted an alleged foreign repression operation on U.S. soil, arresting a Southern California real estate agent accused of working as an unregistered agent for the Chinese government.
The suspect, Wanying “Heather” Zhang, a 34-year-old naturalized U.S. citizen living in an upscale neighborhood in Irvine, California, was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) as she prepared to board a flight to Shanghai.
