Acclaimed director drafted in to help finish The Batman: Part II

  • Oscar-winning director Steven Soderbergh has stepped in to help complete the final weeks of principal photography for The Batman Part II in London while writer-director Matt Reeves attends to an ongoing family matter.
  • Soderbergh proactively approached Reeves to offer assistance, with DC Studios' full backing, and will work closely with Reeves—who remains involved remotely—to ensure the new footage integrates seamlessly with existing scenes.
  • Clarifying his status on social media platform X, Matt Reeves confirmed he is not leaving the production and expressed profound gratitude to Soderbergh for coming to his aid during a challenging time.
  • The film will see Robert Pattinson reprise his role as Bruce Wayne alongside returning stars Jeffrey Wright, Andy Serkis, and Colin Farrell, joined by new cast members including Scarlett Johansson and Sebastian Stan.
  • Having previously suffered multiple release postponements from its initial October 2025 target, The Batman Part II is now scheduled to open in cinemas on 18 February 2028.
