AC Milan are hoping to reach a 'verbal agreement' for Leeds United target Charles de Ketelaere this weekend, according to Sky Italia. Leeds have been chasing de Ketelaere all summer, but the Club Brugge striker has made it clear that AC Milan are the only club he wishes to sign for.
The Whites are looking to add a striker before the transfer window shuts to provide competition for Patrick Bamford - with Paris Saint-Germain forward Arnaud Kalimuendo and Blackburn Rovers striker Ben Brereton Diaz among those linked with a move to Elland Road.
It is understood that Leeds are maintaining their interest in the highly-rated Belgium international, just in case a move to the Serie A champions does fall through.
However, Sky Italia have reported that Milan are hoping to land a verbal agreement with the 21-year-old this weekend, with the hope that the paperwork will be completed next week. Representatives from AC Milan were recently in Belgium to help try and progress a deal with Club Brugge. He is the Italian giants' number one priority, and they are keen to push a deal over the line.
They are reluctant though to go beyond the end of next week without an agreement.
