An entertainment licence has been granted to AC Hotel at Belfast harbour for its new outdoor area.
At the recent meeting of the Belfast City Council Licensing Committee, elected representatives agreed to an application from Mr Ruairi McLaughlin, on behalf of AC Hotel by Marriott, for a seven day annual outdoor entertainments licence at 90 Donegall Quay.
The applicant applied to provide musical entertainment in the form of live music, within a new outdoor area at the hotel’s main building, recently launched as “The Terrace.”

It already has an existing indoor entertainments licence, covering Monday to Saturday 11.30am to 1.00am, and Sunday 12.30pm to 01.00am. The new licence proposes to provide entertainment within the new outdoor area, Monday to Sunday midday to 11.00pm.
No written representation was received by the council as a result of the public notice of the application. The PSNI and Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service were consulted and both confirmed they had no objection to the application.
The council report states: “Officers have carried out one “during performance inspection” over the past 12 months. On this occasion, all technical matters were satisfactory, and the appropriate measures and management procedures were being implemented effectively.
“The premises have also been subject to inspections as part of the licensing application process, and all technical requirements and associated operational and management procedures have been checked and are satisfactory.
“The applicant provided the service with a noise impact assessment report from an acoustic consultant for the outdoor area. This has been evaluated by our environmental protection unit, who are satisfied with it.”
