Abu Dhabi confirms ballistic missile debris fallen on Sweihan Street : Two dead as Iran vs US-Israel war escalates

A missile interception over Abu Dhabi turned deadly today as falling debris struck a busy road, killing two people and injuring three others. The incident has raised concerns over the risks posed even during successful air defence operations.

According to the Abu Dhabi Media Office, the debris fell on Sweihan Street following the interception of a ballistic missile by UAE air defence systems. The two victims have not yet been identified, while three others sustained injuries. Several vehicles were also damaged in the incident.

Authorities confirmed that the missile had been successfully intercepted, but fragments from the operation landed in a populated area, leading to casualties and damage. Emergency teams responded to the scene as investigations into the incident began.

In a statement shared on X, the Abu Dhabi Media Office said further updates would be provided as more information becomes available. Officials also urged the public to rely only on verified, official sources for updates and to avoid spreading rumours or unconfirmed reports.

The incident highlights the potential dangers posed by falling debris during missile defence operations, even when interception systems function as intended.
