"Absolutely heartbreaking" - Support for families of engaged couple tragically killed in house fire

Message of support have flooded in for the families of a couple killed in a house fire. Rebecca Foster, 32, and fiance Kieran Naylor, 33, were pulled out of their home in the early hours on December 12 after a devastating blaze took over the house on Delph Lane, Cheshire.

Cheshire Police said the couple suffered serious injuries and were taken to Warrington and Whiston hospitals in critical condition. Rebecca tragically died in hospital two days later on Wednesday, December 14 - as Kieran fought for his life for a further two weeks before dying on Boxing Day.

In a tribute issued on December 19, Rebecca's family remembered her as a 'loving and caring daughter', adding their 'lives have been absolutely torn apart by her death'. As Kieran's family added the loving couple have now been 'reunited forever'.

Beneath the article shared by the Manchester Evening News, readers shared heartwarming messages of support for their families following the news that the pair had both succumbed to their injuries in the blaze.

Michelle Bridson wrote: "So sad. May they rest in peace together and my thoughts are with their family and friends."

As Corinna Jennings said: "Absolutely heartbreaking. I'm sure Rebecca was there to greet Keiran. Forever for eternity. So very sorry for the families loss..."

Witchy Ponk posted: "Heartbreaking - thoughts with their families and friends at this sad time," as Sheila Cain added: "So very sad fly high with the angles thoughts and prayers with both there families and friends."

In a tribute, Kieran’s family said: "Words cannot express how completely heartbroken and devastated we are to have lost Kieran. Our lives will never be the same.

"Kieran really was the best son, brother and uncle that anyone could have wished for and he will be sorely missed by everyone who had the pleasure to have known him. Kieran and Rebecca are now reunited forever and they will always be in our hearts. We would like to thank everyone who tried to help Kieran and Rebecca following the fire and would ask that we are left to grieve in peace at this time."

Rebecca’s family said: "Rebecca was a loving and caring daughter and our lives have been absolutely torn apart by her death. She and Kieran made the perfect couple, and the pair were planning to spend the rest of their lives together, but sadly they will never be able to fulfil their dreams.

"We would like to thank everyone who tried to help Rebecca and Kieran on the night of the fire for all their efforts and would ask that we are left to grieve in peace at this difficult time."

A Cheshire Police spokesman said investigations into the cause of the fire are still ongoing, but it is not believed to be suspicious.
