Aberdeen player ratings as Barry Robson's men suffer Hampden heartbreak

Kelle Roos 7

The goalkeeper had a quiet first 45 minutes but produced several good saves in the second half to keep his side in it as Rangers piled on the pressure. However, he will likely be disappointed not to have kept out James Tavernier's winner.

Richard Jensen 6

It was a game in which he had to be strong defensively and the 27-year-old managed to do that for the majority of the fixture. He was caught slightly under the ball for the only goal of the final.

Slobodan Rubezic 5

He was guilty of stepping out too quickly which allowed Philippe Clement's men space in behind. His positioning was lacking for the goal that gave the Ibrox side the victory.

Stefan Gartenmann 6

While at times he was effective at times as part of a back three that stifled Rangers, some of his distribution lacked quality.

Jonny Hayes 6

The Irishman did a good job of neutralising Tavernier in the first half but was another who faded out of the match before leaving the pitch.

Graeme Shinnie 6

It was a match the captain struggled to get a grip of. He was lucky not to be booked on a few occasions before finally receiving a yellow card late on.

Leighton Clarkson 6

He would have been hoping to provide more of a creative spark for the Pittodrie club but was unable to get into attacking positions on a regular basis. The 22-year-old did work hard defensively.

Nicky Devlin 7

At times he was very effective going forward, including putting in a dangerous cross in the second 45 minutes, which was as close as Barry Robson's men came to scoring.

Jamie McGrath 6

The former St Mirren and Dundee United man looked dangerous going forward in the first half but dipped out of the fixture as things went on.

Ester Sokler 6

Like his strike partner, service was limited to the forward, and he was not very involved before being substituted.

Bojan Miovski 6

He was isolated by the Ibrox defence and struggled to make any real impact on the match. Aberdeen tried to release their main man in behind a few times, but the final ball was lacking.

Substitutes

Duk (for Sokler, 65) 5

At times he did look dangerous out wide but struggled with a lack of end product.

James McGarry (for Hayes, 65) 5

The midfielder tried to make things happen but Aberdeen were already up against it after his introduction.

Dante Polvara (for McGrath, 70) 3

It was a fixture that he was unable to affect.

Shayden Morris (for Jensen, 80) 2

There was little time for him to make an impact.
