Aberdeen are 'irked' by the length of time taken over the SPFL tribunal over the free transfer of Connor Barron to Rangers.
The Scotland midfielder moved to Ibrox in the summer after leaving Pittodrie at the end of his contract.
Philippe Clement swooped to pick up one of Scotland's emerging young talents.
However, in September, it became clear that after the Scottish Premiership duo could not settle on compensation for the player, a tribunal would be required to determine how much Aberdeen is entitled to for their academy product in the shape of a development fee.
That figure has still to be decided by the SPFL.
And at Aberdeen's AGM in the north east this evening, the club's CEO Alan Burrows has told shareholders in an update on the matter that the club is growing tired of the situation.
He said: "This may sound like a cop-out, but the rules of the SPFL prevent us from speaking too much about it.
"But what I can tell you is that the process has been extremely elongated and has taken significant time for both management and staff.
"I am happy to go on record saying that the SPFL should have a much more succinct system to deliver this sort of thing. It should not take 6-7 months to try and deliver that.
"We hope to have a conclusion on that fairly soon. I certainly agree that it gone on for too long and should act as a catalyst for the league to do it better."
The 22-year-old - who has been one of very few bright sparks for Rangers so far this season - spoke to the media just days before the recent 4-1 Europa League victory over OGC Nice a little under a fortnight ago.
He said: "We're all on the same page that it wasn't good enough [vs Dundee United], we know that. We've got to bounce back on Thursday.

"We are all in it together, we haven't done our job on the day and everyone takes responsibility for that and it's not just down to one person, we all have to start pulling our weight on the pitch as well.
"Everyone is part of it, and everyone is part of the results at the end of the day.
"We are all a team, it's now down to us all to pull our weight on Thursday and get a result.
"The gaffer has been fine, he's been positive, we've been over the game at the weekend and we have to move on quickly to the next one.
"We are all behind the manager and pulling in the same direction, everyone is remaining positive and we are ready to go for Thursday night."
