ABC makes decision on The Bachelorette replacement after scrapping season

• But after a last-minute cancelation, ABC will instead air a rerun of American Idol this Sunday as a replacement for The Bachelorette premiere, which was slated to air from 8-10 p.m. ET.
• ABC cancelled the upcoming season starring Taylor Frankie Paul after TMZ published a 2023 video showing Paul being violent toward her ex-partner, Dakota Mortensen.
• The footage depicted Paul throwing metal barstools, kicking, and putting Mortensen in a headlock.
• Paul pleaded guilty to aggravated assault after the incident in 2023 and is currently serving three years' probation.
