Abbey Clancy is said to be ‘furious’ with her husband Peter Crouch amid reports he is offering support and advice to shamed love-rat Eddie Boxshall who was dumped by Denise van Outen amid cheating accusations.
The 36-year-old model has been married to 40-year-old football star Peter since 2011 – but a "strain" has allegedly been put on their 11-year strong marriage due to Peter’s friendship with 48-year-old Eddie.
The businessman had been in a relationship with 47-year-old TV babe Denise since 2014 – but earlier this month it was confirmed their romance was over after Eddie was busted for enjoying phone sex and secret dates with other women.
Reports over the weekend have suggested that Eddie has been leaning on Peter for support and advice after he grew friendly with the sport star after being introduced by his now ex-fiancée – and Abbey is not happy about it.
A source told The Sun on Sunday: “Peter helping Eddie hasn’t gone down well with Abbey. She’s furious on Denise’s behalf and won’t give Eddie the time of day.”
The source also stated: “Peter doesn’t condone his actions. He’s tried to help but he’s made it clear that he doesn’t want to get involved in matters between Eddie and Denise.”
Abbey knows exactly what Denise is going through – as rumours exploded back in 2010 that the striker had cheated on her with a teenage sex worker while on a stag do.
The pair’s romance was saved as Abbey soon discovered she was pregnant with their first child and they went on to tie-the-knot the following year – and later welcome three more kids.
But Abbey hasn’t forgotten the agony she experienced when it was claimed her lover had been unfaithful.
Opening up about her heartache in 2014, Abbey told the Mirror: “It was horrendous. For any woman who is pregnant or had a baby, it’s tough.”
However she brushed off the allegations as “one of those things” and went on to explain how close she is with her husband.
Abbey said: “He’s my best friend. He makes me laugh – he’s kind, generous and the most incredible dad. I’m so proud of him.”
Meanwhile, Eddie is reportedly attempting to win back Denise – who has thrown him out of their shared home and is said to want nothing more to do with him.
A source said last week: “Eddie is convinced he can win Denise back and isn’t willing to throw away all of their memories together. He’s pulling out all the stops to save their relationship.
“He feels terrible and pained that she’s hurting. He is desperate to gain her forgiveness and knows there are a lot of deep-rooted feelings involved. He’s not willing to accept it’s over for good.
“He thinks they’re the perfect match for each other and knows he was foolish. Eddie is keeping his distance for now and wants to give her the space and respect she needs.”
The couple had previously said they were effectively engaged, although neither had popped the question to the other.
Denise said last year: “We’re not engaged but we are preparing to get married. It will definitely happen but we’re not in a rush.”
