An abandoned Edinburgh shop is set to get a new lease of life, with plans hoping to transform it into a new cafe and visitor hub.
Submitted for consideration by the council this week, the site in South Queensferry is currently lying empty, with proposals set to see it become a thriving local hotspot.
Boasting incredible views across the bridges and the Firth of Forth, the application states that the site would become a mixture of both an experience with onsite dining.

However, the venue would also have some retail areas, where local food, merchandise and other items could be sold.
Speaking in a planning statement, applicant Mark Moran stated that the project will help to bring a "new cafe culture to South Queensferry."
He added: "We aim to deliver an affordable, thriving venue for a diversity of people and tastes with an objective to avoid food waste by creating new options weekly.

The Café will offer a dining experience at 9am–11am as a continental breakfast hub serving pastries, cereals, desserts, fruits, coffee, teas, welcoming parents with young children. Lunch and evening offerings will include hot uncooked meals such as paninis, quiches, pies, scotch eggs, soups, waffles and cold meals including cheese and meat boards, sandwiches, pastries, cakes.
"We will focus on supporting local suppliers and businesses with Artisan products sourced locally including gluten-free and vegan options. Hot beverages will also be available throughout.
"The Café will also deliver a unique attraction to visitors and local residents focusing on Queensferry’s bridges, culture, historical events and notable historical individuals. This will include Food Tasting Experiences paired with local Ferry Brewery beers. Similarly, we currently work with other businesses and the idea is to continue collaborations with local non-profit clubs, local businesses including historical bridges walking tours, local artists for arts and crafts exhibitions, experiences, and cruise ship tours."
