Aaron Wan-Bissaka explains what Manchester United must do in Premier League title race

Aaron Wan-Bissaka believes Manchester United can't think too far ahead of themselves and must take every game as it comes to keep their great form going.

Though Erik ten Hag is trying to keep ambitions measured, United entered the Premier League title race on Saturday with a dramatic and controversial victory over Manchester City. United can actually move above their neighbours if they defeat Wan-Bissaka's former side Crystal Palace on Wednesday, with the Blues not back in action until Thursday when they face Tottenham.

January is a hectic month of fixtures for United with a trip to table-toppers Arsenal coming up on the weekend before a double-legged Carabao Cup semi-final and an FA Cup fourth-round tie. Wan-Bissaka has explained what United need to do to keep the good times rolling.

“We know with all of the games coming up that none of them will be easy," the right-back told United's in-house media. "But we all go into every game with the mentality to win. I think we need to take every game, game by game with the aim of just winning."

Wan-Bissaka has earned a reprieve in the team due to Diogo Dalot's injury and has impressed after it once looked as though his days at Old Trafford were numbered. While he was pleased with his display in Saturday's derby victory he insisted the collective performance is more important.

“For me, first it’s the team, you put the team first,” he added. “The team performance. But individually I was happy with the way I played [against City]. That always helps with the team around you.

“We’re all really together and helping each other on the pitch.”

At one point in the match, Wan-Bissaka displayed a rare piece of quality in attack as he wriggled away from three defenders before passing off the ball but continued his run forward to eventually get a good shot on target from the edge of the box. The fans loved the move and when asked if it was pleasing to hear them cheer him on, the 25-year-old replied: “Yeah definitely. It also pushes your confidence up to continue doing what you do best.

“Obviously, that pleased the fans and led to a chance in the game, so it was a good moment."
