Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow earned widespread praise for his toughing out the calf injury during Monday’s win over the Los Angeles Rams.
And much of that praise is coming from Aaron Rodgers.
Buy Bengals TicketsRodgers, dealing with his own injury and out for the season with a torn Achilles, appeared on Pat McAfee’s show and revealed he’s been in contact with Burrow.
“I give Joe a lot of credit,” Rodgers said. Him and I had a conversation this week. Just for him to tough it out, I don’t know if people realize how much pain and limited mobility he was in. But for him to gut it out last night and to make enough plays to win, like I text him, that’s what great competitors do.
Statistically, Burrow’s night wasn’t the greatest (drops and penalties certainly didn’t help), but few could argue his effort wasn’t impressive — and it certainly set the tone for a desperate team faced with potentially ruining its season after three games.

They show up and play through the pain and don't make it a big deal" ~ @AaronRodgers12 #PMSLive pic.twitter.com/2B3InsD2kH
