Aaron Rodgers on future: ‘I’ll make a decision soon enough’

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers told Aubrey Marcus that he’s expecting to make a decision on his football future “soon enough.”

“It’s best for anybody who has an interest in this to make a decision sooner rather than later,” Rodgers said on “The Aubrey Marcus Podcast,” which was released on Wednesday. “I’ll make a decision soon enough and we’ll go down that road and be really excited about it.”

Rodgers said he contemplated returning to play football in 2023 but also retiring from the game during his four-day darkness retreat. He said he doesn’t want to “drag anyone around” while making his decision.

“All the answers are right inside me,” Rodgers said.

The Packers are hoping to have a decision from both sides in place by the start of free agency, which begins March 15. Rodgers and general manager Brian Gutekunst still need to have important conversations on the quarterback’s future.
