It sure seems like Aaron Rodgers is well on his way to winning NFL MVP for the second consecutive season. But before the Associated Press announces its official awards at the NFL Honors show on Feb. 10, the Pro Football Writers of America revealed theirs.
PFWA voters named Rodgers the Most Valuable Player in the NFL for this season, the second straight year he’s won the award. He put together another stellar season with 37 touchdown passes and only four interceptions, leading the league with a touchdown percentage of 7% and an interception rate of only 0.8% – the fourth straight year he’s had the lowest INT rate.
For the second consecutive season, Rodgers also had the highest passer rating (111.9) in the NFL, which was the third-best of his career.

While PFWA’s award isn’t the official one recognized by the NFL, this is a strong indicator that Rodgers will be named MVP by the Associated Press, too.
Every year since 2004, the winner of PFWA MVP has also gone on to win NFL MVP. It’s highly unlikely that Rodgers will break that trend after winning PFWA MVP and also being named first-team All-Pro over Tom Brady.

This is the fourth time in Rodgers’ career that he’s won PFWA MVP, also taking home the honor in 2020, 2014 and 2011.
