Aaron Rodgers still has his sights on the becoming a New York Jet at some point. The latest sign was him trying to recruit Calais Campbell to the team.
Campbell appeared on the podcast “The Crew” with Josina Anderson and got into his free agency process and revealed that Rodgers sent him a text trying to get him to join the Jets.
Campbell: “It was kind of crazy because Aaron Rodgers texted me. He’s like, ‘Yo, man, let’s go win a championship together.’”
Good news for #Jets fans: AR appears invested in team.
Bad news: Still wasn’t enough to land Campbell, who says ATL offered chance to be a “true” DE https://t.co/evaAtELQEL

The Jets were definitely in on Campbell, but it seems Campbell preferred his potential opportunity on the field with the Falcons rather than the Jets, thus leading him to sign with the Falcons before the Jets even had a chance to meet with him.
At least Rodgers tried and it’s clear he’s ready to join the Jets and make them as competitive as they can be. He and the rest of the world waits for Joe Douglas and Brian Gutekunst to finally come to a deal.
