Wales superstar Aaron Ramsey ’s stunning proposed move to Rangers is “practically done” according to a flood of reports in Italy.
The Juventus ace was linked with a switch to Ibrox on the morning of what would be a dramatic deadline day move.
And speculation has ramped up that the 31-year-old former Arsenal man could be heading to the Scottish Premiership champions.
Respected Italian journalist Franco Leonetti claims a €2.5 loan move will be struck until June with a €5.5 million option to buy – which could be obligatory if he helps them win the title – in the summer.
Juventus would pay the majority of his eye-watering £400,000-a-week wages.
Leonetti continued: “As I anticipated some time ago, Juve are willing to share in the payment of Ramsey’s salary in order to close the loan deal with Glasgow Rangers."
Fellow Italian journalist and transfer guru Fabrizio Romano says the move is close but that the player still needs to be convinced.
Further reports, however, state Ramsey has made up his mind and accepted Rangers’ offer. He was said to be at a private airport making his decision.
Earlier, Romano wrote: "Rangers are pushing to sign Aaron Ramsey. They're trying to convince the player - loan with buy option agreed with Juventus but is now up to Ramsey and his agent."
Ramsey has been linked with a string of English Premier League clubs including Wolves, Newcastle, Burnley and Crystal Palace.
But the bookies now have him as odds on to move to Gio van Bronckhorst’s side in what would be a huge transfer.
He has not played for his club since a late substitute appearance against Zenit in the Champions League in October 2021 but is desperate to get game time in his dream of playing for Wales at this upcoming winter’s World Cup.
