Aaron Ramsey accidentally signs Juventus 'contract termination' after brutal fans' trick

Aaron Ramsey accidentally penned his own ‘contract termination’ notice after falling for a ruthless trick from Juventus supporters.

The Welshman made his return to training with the Serie A giants on Sunday following an underwhelming loan spell with Scottish side Rangers last term. He is not expected to be in the club’s plans for the 2022/23 campaign having never quite managed to establish himself in the first team in Turin since a 2019 move from Arsenal.

In a fresh blow, it appears as though the 31-year-old’s career in Italy has plunged to even lower depths after he signed his own ‘contract termination’ with a year still remaining on his deal.

In a video shared online, Ramsey is shown providing autographs to supporters following his return to the club’s training facility. However, one was slightly amiss.

Pictures showed one of the papers adorned with the words ‘rescissione contrattuale’, which literally translates to ‘contract termination’, with Ramsey’s signature underneath.

Of course, Ramsey does still have time to serve on his Juventus contract, with one year remaining on his big-money deal. If he is not offloaded this summer, it is expected he will depart on a free transfer at the end of the season.

A separation between the two parties might well benefit both considering Ramsey’s disappointing spell with the club. After arriving in 2019, he has made 70 appearances for the club and scored six goals.

His time with Rangers did not go much better. Ramsey was regularly benched and missed the decisive penalty in last season’s Europa League final defeat by German side Eintracht Frankfurt.

The former Arsenal man is likely to be even further down the pecking order with the Old Lady this term following Paul Pogba’s return from Manchester United. It remains to be seen whether he will attempt to secure an exit but, so far, not many clubs have been linked with making a move for his services - Rangers electing not to extend his stay at Ibrox any further than the initial six-month loan.

Ramsey admitted last summer that it had been “difficult” to accept his situation at Juventus. He said: “The way things have gone is not helping me personally.

“I know what I can do and with the right management I can stay fit for a long period of time and play a lot of games. I still feel good given the opportunity and managed correctly. It has been frustrating that I have picked up these little injuries which have cost me a lot of games.

“I would like to see myself playing more and be out there more. The amount of minutes I have played, it has been difficult. It has been a bit of a frustrating time.”
