Arsenal are up and running in the 2022/23 season after recording an impressive 2-0 win over Crystal Palace on Friday night.
Gabriel Martinelli scored the first goal of the new Premier League campaign as he benefitted from a well-worked corner routine - inspired by set-piece coach Nicolas Jover - and then an own goal from Eagles defender Marc Guehi sealed all three points for the Gunners.
Mikel Arteta's side certainly had to work hard for the victory as the hosts were the dominant team for large spells of the second half, but they managed to dig in to avoid a repeat of last season's nightmare opener and there were some enjoyable moments for Arsenal supporters to savour at Selhurst Park.
