Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale has finally spoken about his altercation with Tottenham Hotspur forward Richarlison during January's North London Derby.
The Gunners secured a 2-0 victory away to their arch-rivals thanks to a Hugo Lloris own goal and a long-range Martin Odegaard strike. But the match was marred by an incident involving Ramsdale and Richarlison that saw the Brazilian international confront the young 'keeper after taking exception to his celebrations on the full-time whistle.
Eventually, there was a large altercation between both sets of players before a Spurs supporter, who had jumped up on the advertising hoarding, kicked out at Ramsdale. Richarlison explained his side of the story immediately after the match, admitting that he was frustrated by the exuberant celebration from the away side.

"What I really didn’t like was their goalkeeper [Ramsdale]," the former Everton frontman remarked. "He was celebrating in front of our fans, that’s a disrespect to our fans.
"He should have celebrated with their fans. Punishment nothing. People know that we tried to do our best, but you have to respect other teams. He lacked respect there, and I went there to call him up on it."
Now, Ramsdale has spoken about the incident, labelling the Tottenham forward a 'wind-up merchant'. Speaking about Richarlison to ESPN, the England shot-stopper said: "Wind-up merchant.
"He knows how to get under people's skin and sometimes it's to his advantage and sometimes it's not. It can either bite you in the bum or work in your favour and I think there have been times when it has worked in his favour so yeah, I think he is a wind-up merchant."
