LUCKNOW: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Thursday staged a protest in Lucknow and several other districts of UP, against the attack on Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal's house allegedly by BJP members.
After a scuffle with the police, the protesters were later detained in Lucknow and sent to Eco Garden from where they dispersed. A memorandum to the governor demanding justice in the case was also handed over by AAP to police officials.
AAP's state general secretary Dinesh Singh Patel said, "It is clear that the BJP is frightened of AAP and is adamant on harming CM Kejriwal. The BJP is unable to take AAP's win in Punjab which is pushing its members to take up cowardly acts like attacking Kejriwal's house."
"AAP is a democratic party which walks in the footsteps of Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar. We absolutely condemn this violence and urge the Governor to take action against the culprits and put them behind bars," he added.
