Moving tributes have been paid to two “hero” police officers who died in a collision near Middlesbrough as their families described their “pain beyond words”.
PCs Tom Clough, 38, and Matthew Blades, 37, died after the police vehicle they were driving was struck by a Volkswagen Passat travelling on the wrong side of the A66 in Teesside on Saturday night.
