Highways officials have released diversion routes as congestion has built up following a collision which has closed the A46 in Newark in both directions. Highways England have published routes for both Northbound and Southbound diversions.
Traffic on the Northbound is advised to exit at the Saxondale roundabout and take exit at A52 eastbound. Then at the end of Crawler Lane, take the slip road for the A1 northbound. Exit the A1 at the junction of A46 Brownhills and re-join the northbound A46.
For traffic on the southbound, motorists are advised to take the exit at the A1/A46 roundabout and then take the A1 southbound. Then take the A52 westbound at the Barrowby exit and re-join the A46 at the Saxondale roundabout.
