Emergency services were called to a vehicle fire that blocked the northbound carriageway of the A1. Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service reported that as of 12.40pm on Saturday, January 7, they were attending a fire on the A1 northbound at the Tuxford exit.
Traffic monitoring website Inrix confirmed emergency services were still at the scene as of 2pm. Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service asked for motorists to avoid the area if possible as delays were likely to be caused by the incident.
On Twitter, a spokesperson said: "We are currently in attendance at a vehicle fire on the A1 northbound at Tuxford exit. Please avoid the area if possible as this incident could cause delays."

Traffic monitoring website Inrix said the A1 was blocked between B1164 ( Carlton / Sutton / Kneesall Turn Off, Carlton On Trent) and A6075 Ashvale Road (Tuxford Junction, Tuxford). The circumstances of the fire are not known.
