Attorneys are now weighing their next steps after a jury said it was unable to decide whether to convict the man accused of starting the deadly 2025 Palisades Fire in Los Angeles, following two days of deliberations.
On Thursday, jurors told the court they could not reach a unanimous verdict in the trial of 29-year-old Jonathan Rinderknecht, who faces three federal charges. The development came as a surprise after jurors had earlier indicated they had reached an agreement, only to reverse course less than 30 minutes later. They were ordered to return to court Friday morning.
