It’s been a few days since Big Brother 2025 wrapped, but some viewers are still fuming about Emily Dale’s unfair treatment at the finale. Not only did the expected winner finish in second place, but she was also robbed of an onstage moment with host Mel Tracina.
Well, according to a production insider, the decision to block Emily from her post-eviction chat was actually a strategic decision.
And yes, it all allegedly links back to ensuring Coco Beeby’s win landed cleanly.

A producer from Endemol Shine Australia told PEDESTRIAN.TV that everyone involved knew exactly how powerful Emily’s fanbase was heading into the finale.
“It was a timing issue, but also everyone was fully aware that Emily had a very strong fanbase. It felt like having Emily on stage could have diminished Coco’s win,” they said.
In other words: Emily still had enough public love that her presence risked stealing Coco’s moment. Clearly, that was a risk production wasn’t willing to take.
However, in a twist no one saw coming, our insider now says there’s regret over how it all went down. The fallout from sidelining Emily has clearly landed harder than expected and it’s not being brushed under the rug internally.
“In retrospect, that backlash feels a lot like the wrong decisions were made. There have been some pretty strong conversations about that decision,” they said.
So was Big Brother 2025 rigged?
Here’s where things get spicier. Our source claimed that one particular executive was fiercely determined to see Coco take the crown and that the storytelling across the season reflected that agenda.
“Behind the scenes, there was a huge push to get Coco to win and it was clear the voters were nightly show watchers and not livestream voters,” they said. “The narratives for Coco drove her to win.”
So… was the finale manipulated? To be clear, nothing here proves votes were rigged and Channel 10 told P.TV earlier this month that “every vote matters”.
“In fact, they matter so much that we have an auditor from Ernst and Young present at the start and stop of every vote to officially confirm and record the outcome,” they said.
However, it’s possible that editing, narrative shaping and finale staging decisions may have played a bigger role than fans originally realised. And for Emily’s supporters, it explains why her sudden disappearance from the finale felt so suspicious at the time.
Channel 10 has also yet to reveal the percentage of votes Coco received in the finale, which makes everything a wee bit more suss.
The reality show is set to return in 2026, so let’s just hope producers learn from their mistakes next season.
