A Place in the Sun viewers were left taken aback by a buyer's confession on a recent episode of the Channel 4 show.
Retirees Pauline and Peter have been visiting Lanzarote separately for over 15 years, and even met each other there. Speaking on an episode of the hit show, they explained how the time was right to buy their own holiday home in their favourite resort of Playa Blanca with the help of Jasmine Harman.
With a budget of £350,000 to play with, the A Place in the Sun co-presenter was delighted to help the couple on their quest to purchase a holiday home. Pauline and Peter requested a scenic view of the island but admitted space was their main priority when it came to possible properties, as it may be a deal breaker if there wasn't enough room.
Pauline revealed how she and her husband needed a minimum of three bedrooms, an outdoor pool and a large lounging area if there were going to place an offer on a property abroad. Jasmine quizzed the pair abouttheir specific needs before the couple explained their family is a lot larger than most.
Peter explained how he and his wife share three children and 15 grandchildren together, leaving the property expert visibly shocked and declaring: "Wow that's a pretty big family, isn't it."
Viewers watching at home were also taken aback by the confession, as they couldn't believe what they just heard on the popular Channel 4 show.
"With 15 grandkids no wonder they spend seven months away! So would I!," one fan of the show quipped, as another added: "15 grandkids they’d be better off buying a crèche."
A third viewer added: "They’ve got too many grandkids to consider I think, but what do I know."
Pauline and Peter eventually settled on their dream home as they put in a "cheeky" offer of £315,000 on a property, almost £50,000 below the asking price. Despite the owner initially rejecting the bid, they agreed on a spacious villa for £349,000.
A Place in the Sun first aired on Channel 4 in 2000 and has since gone to help hundreds of British couples who are looking to move from their home in dreary Britain for the sun, sea and sand abroad.
Laura Hamilton took over presenting the long-running series in 2012, joining Jasmine as a co-presenter after the property expert first appeared on the show in 2004.
