A Place in the Sun buyers 'put in a difficult place' as fans taken aback by show first

A Place in the Sun buyers were taken aback by a show first on today's search.

Craig Rowe hosted Tuesday's edition of the popular Channel 4 programme. The expert was helping Gill and Rhys find their dream home abroad in France.

The couple were armed with a maximum budget of £205,000 and were looking for a spacious home in Dordogne. They wanted a home with a minimum of two bedroom that was ready to move in and not in a remote location.

Gill and Rhys admitted they had already been viewing properties in the area before the show and one had particularly caught their eye. However they decided against it due to the valuation and amount of work the property needed.

However, Craig took the bold move of revisiting the home during today's search, which raised eyebrows amongst viewers following the show on Twitter.

One said: "Show them one they’ve rejected already. Great idea Craig." However, the expert was inspired to do this after the price was reduced to £186,864, which was comfortably in their budget.

Craig made the move to view this house after the buyers were wowed by the third home, which was a four bed house in Bergerac.. However, the house-hunters were concerned by the proximity to a busy road, which could be a disturbance.

They were once again impressed by the two bed house with a gite on their second viewing, which prompted Rhys to confess he couldn't make his mind up.

He said: "You've put us in a difficult place. You've showed us the perfect house but this is the perfect location."

The expert trumped both with the last home on the search, which was a three bed house in Bergerac. The buyers decided to put a bid in for the home, but were priced out so went back in for the fourth property, which they had identified before the show began.

Gill and Rhys put in a bid of £150,000, which was being considered by the seller and they are still in negotiations weeks after the programme finished filming.
